A Community United Making the STEM difference

The amazing volunteers that make up the FIRST Robotics PR family not only show up at the big competitions, but they’re also willing to help out even when the spotlight isn’t that great.

Thanks to the support of people like Carmen, Sheyla, Juan Diego, Juanky, Luis, Ana M and Madeline, among many others, who donated a total of 57.5 volunteer hours through two days, to build the 8 CARGO CONNECT mission boxes that were used through the 3 season competition events.

Other volunteers, such as Dr. Juán A. González Sánchez (UAGM), Mr. Marcos Villanueva (Walmart), Mr. David Olan (Johnson & Johnson), Mrs. Jessica Cruz (Grainger), Mr. Ruben Solla (Medtronic), Prof. Ricardo Arzuaga Chaves (UNA-USA PR) and Ing. Eileen M. Vélez Vega (DTOP), donated their time and knowledge to educate our teams on the transportation of goods, inform them of the challenges Puerto Rico faces, and inspire them in their Innovation Projects during the CARGO Connect Symposium that was held on October 13, 2021.

Even more volunteers helped with endless other details. Shopping for food for the events, preparing flyers for marketing, organizing event music playlists, maintaining lines of communication with mentors and teams, and so many other things would not have been possible without the help of our volunteers. With a heart full of sincere gratitude, we thank each and every one of you who have helped us make this, and every year, a success.

Thank you volunteers!
